Rubén S. Rubinstein brings more than 35 years of financial, accounting, and executive operation/management expertise to the Cohen Brown Management Group. In addition to his duties as the Chief Operating Officer, Rubinstein also serves as Chief Financial Officer for the company, and as personal business advisor to the company’s owners and partners, Martin L. Cohen, M.D. and Edward G. Brown.

Rubén is responsible for executing the partners’ corporate vision and building upon Cohen Brown’s existing reputation within the financial services industry as the internationally recognized leader in sales and service cultural and behavioral change. In this role, Rubén oversees the day-to-day operations at the company’s headquarters in Los Angeles, California and London, England, and its representation throughout the U.S., Australia, Singapore, Germany, Mexico, and Brazil. Rubén’s administrative duties include developing short- and long-term business plans to ensure the company’s profitability and growth, and U.S. and international client negotiation, acquisition, and retention efforts, program development, and multimedia process training.

A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Rubén’s background and fluency in Spanish has been crucial in developing the Spanish and Latin American markets. He is also the chief editor for Edward G. Brown’s recently published book, The Time Bandit Solution.

Prior to joining Cohen Brown, Rubén worked for three prestigious CPA firms in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. While working for Bash, Gesas & Company in 1984, Rubén helped form a congressional task force made up of lawmakers, members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and attorneys to improve IRS guidelines for independent contractors and employees.

In 1991, Rubén founded his own accountancy corporation, Rubén S. Rubinstein, C.P.A. By the beginning of 1998, Rubinstein had expanded his client base to more than 200 clients, acting as strategic business manager and financial and tax advisor. Cohen Brown Management Group was among Rubén’s most prominent clients. After selling his accountancy firm in 1998, Rubén came on board with Cohen Brown.

Rubén earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. Rubén’s professional affiliations include membership in AICPA, California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and California State Board of Certified Public Accountants.

In addition to his professional capabilities, Rubén has held various athletic achievements and honors, including the opportunity to play semipro and professional soccer. While playing soccer in college, he was recognized as a First Team All-American, an honor bestowed upon the best 11 Division 1 college soccer players by the NCAA in its annual review. Rubén previously served as treasurer for the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) and volunteers as a referee and coach in his private time.
